Dinner at The Candle in the Woods is more than just a meal, it is an entire experience

that you will not soon forget. We welcome you to an unforgettable evening of casual elegance,

great food, and a lot of fun, all set in beautiful North Idaho .

Our dinners are a 12-14 course, prix fixe menu, with each course perfectly paired with an outstanding wine, from our award-winning cellar, one of the best in the entire northwest.

We also host private events upon request!

Our dinners are one sitting that lasts the entire evening, and we ask our guests to arrive promptly between 5:50 – 6:00 pm, unless otherwise instructed. We eat family style, so we all dine at one table together, although we have a limited number of smaller private tables, if desired.  Our scheduled menus are prix fixe—the menu for the evening and the wines are set daily. You can also purchase a bottle of wine to take with you after dinner, if you’d like.

  • Our evening begins at 6:00pm promptly--so we ask our guests to arrive between 5:50 and 6:00 to ensure we can begin on time.

  • Dinner typically wraps up around 9:30pm or so.

  • We absolutely can! Each meal is prepared specially, so we can accommodate allergies and dietary restrictions. Our reservation coordinator will reach out to you 1-2 weeks before your reservation and ask if you have any restrictions. We can also work with other common diets such as vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, etc. Please just let us know!

  • For those guests who do not drink alcohol, we offer mocktails, sparkling water, and soda.

    We have a curated selection of beer for those who prefer it to wine.

  • We call it casual chic—wear what makes you happy and comfortable! Some guests choose to dress up for a special occasion, others wear nice jeans and a flannel, and others rock that business casual.

  • Dinner includes 12-14 small, gourmet courses, as well as all your wine, for $195* a guest.

    Any extra bottles of wine you choose to purchase will be added onto your bill at the end of the night.

    *Special events and Premier weekends such as Valentines and our “Dinner of a Lifetime” are more.

  • We take cash or all major credit cards. You will be presented with the bill at the end of the evening.

  • Absolutely, we'd love to have you! We offer private events for between 14-20 people, where you can book the entire restaurant for an evening.

    We can accommodate smaller parties upon request, but the minimum price point is equialvent to dinner for 14 guests, so bring all your friends if you can!

    Take Exit 449 off Hwy 95 north, turn west, proceed about 1/2 mile, and we’ll be on the right. If you cross the train tracks, you’ve gone too far!

  • The Candle does not offer a limo service at this time, although there a few driving services in the area, as well as Uber.

  • While we occasionally have food adventurous teens and young adults, we are not the best choice for young children, as the evening is fairly long, we do not have a children's menu, and there is plenty of wine served.
